The Process
Let's be real – anyone with a fancy camera can take a decent photo. But what you really want is to live in the moment on your big day & have photos that capture your genuine emotions and create lasting memories. That's where I come in! I won't settle for boring, posed shots that lack personality. Instead, I'll work with you to create an experience that's tailored to your unique story and style. You're not just another couple to me – you're important and one-of-a-kind. So your photos will be too!
I totally understand that you might feel a little nervous to be in front of the camera, but I can promise you that you're not alone in that feeling & that I will do everything I can to make you feel comfortable! That is why I have the following process to get to know each other better so that I'm not just some stranger with a camera on your big day.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Inquire
Let's make sure we're a good fit for each other. First fill out the contact form below (or click the button below) & expect to hear from me ASAP. I try to respond within a few hours, but if you haven't heard from me in 72 hours please send an email to KirstenAlexandriaPhotography@gmail.com
2. Let's Chat
We'll schedule either a zoom or phone call to chat more about your plans. I'm guessing this is the first time you've ever planned a wedding or elopement, so on the call I'll give advice based off of my own experience photographing weddings & help you figure out how much coverage you'll need.
On this call I'll also ask how you two met, what you like to do together, & other simple questions to get to know you better & to make sure we're a good fit.
Then we'll talk about pricing & I'll explain all of the unique services I offer to couples! Such as coverage on both film & digital, astro-photography for engagements, GIFS, & more! ;)
3. Engagement Photos
We'll figure out the vibe you want for your engagement session. Whether you want it at a park, in a studio, on top of a mountain, at a brewery, or wherever! No, really. I offer travel engagement sessions. This also allows you to get a taste of what my shooting style is like so you know exactly what to expect on your big day.
4. Let's Plan!
I'll answer any questions you have, send you guides & resources, & make you a photo timeline for your day. I'll help with vendor recommendations, location ideas if you're eloping, & so much more.
5. Enjoy the day
You've worked super hard to plan your dream day, & now it's here!! Just be yourselves, enjoy the day (it goes quick!) & know that I have the photos taken care of.
6. What you've been waiting for
I'll send a sneak peek of your day within 72 hours but usually the next day. Then you can expect the rest of your gallery within 8 weeks - but usually way sooner because even after all the weddings & elopements I've photographed, I still get SO excited to edit & deliver your precious memories. :) After you receive all your photos we will start the album designing process.

Second Photographer
$200/HR
Second photographers are generally needed when you & your partner are getting ready at separate locations, if you plan on doing all of your group photos during cocktail hour, & if you have more than 50 guests.
Blue Hour & Astro Add On
$500
For couples who truly want an adventure for their engagement or couples photos. These photos can only be taken at certain locations and require some patience, as they take some trial and error & the ability to stay still for up to 10 seconds at a time
Heirloom Albums
$1300+
Your photos are more than just a file on a usb. They're important memories that belong in an heirloom album to be passed down for generations. Heirloom albums are made with archival ink, flat binding technology, premium fine art papers, matte or photo finishes, & real or synthetic leather covers.

I will edit out anything that would go away within a few days (blemishes, small bruises, etc.) I do NOT manipulate bodies, change clothing colors, get rid of tummies etc. You’re beautiful the way you are. 🤍
I like to describe my work as warm, inspired by 35mm film, & story-telling. I edit true to color with some added warmth & grain & I like to focus on capturing people in the moment rather than faking the moment. My aim is to document every important detail so that your album tells your entire wedding day story from getting ready to your last dance.
While elopements have stolen my heart, I do photograph weddings as well.

First off, just know that this has yet to happen. But if something that’s out of my control happens (illness, death, act of God, etc,) I will communicate with you ASAP & do my best to find a suitable replacement. This is another reason why it's a great idea to add a 2nd photographer for larger/longer weddings. If I’m unable to make it, my 2nd can take over & I will do my best to find a new 2nd. After the wedding I will still edit your photos so you won’t even be able to tell I didn’t take them. If your package did not include a 2nd photographer & I’m unable to find a suitable replacement, you will receive a full refund.
For engagement sessions you’ll receive a sneak peek within 24 hours & the rest within 4 weeks.
For weddings & elopements you’ll receive a sneak peek within 72 hours and the full gallery within 8 weeks. Although 90% of the time I deliver well before the deadline. :)
Never. That would be like your cake decorator giving you a blank cake and telling you to decorate it yourself. 😬
While it’s entirely possible for me to photograph a wedding by myself, prefer having a 2nd for weddings over 50 guests, weddings where you & your partner are getting ready at separate locations & if you plan on doing the bulk of your photos during cocktail hour.
The reason is because it’s like having two of me! The day runs smoother since I’m not having to be in two places at once. It also adds a second perspective to your day.

I don’t promise a specific amount because every wedding is different! A good estimate though would be about 50-75 photos per hour. But don’t worry, if it’s a good shot, you’ll get it! I only get rid of photos that are unintentionally blurry, ones where someone is blinking, or if it’s almost exactly the same as another one.
No, but I highly recommend it! You’ll get to experience my shooting style before the big day so that you know exactly what to expect. Most of my wedding & elopement packages include an engagement session for this reason.
It depends! All of my wedding & elopement packages include all of my travel. No hidden fees there. Couples & engagement sessions include some travel based off of the average distance I’ve had to drive in the past. So most likely you’re covered!
For local weddings & half day or longer elopements your $1800 non-refundable retainer is required to book. Travel weddings & elopements require a $3600 non-refundable retainer so that I can block off your date as well as book my accommodations. The rest is due 1 month before your big day. Payments can be made however frequently you need but the plan must be decided at the time of booking.
For engagement sessions the $400 non-refundable retainer is required to book. The rest is due 1 week before the session.
