Nat & Brooks’ Linville Gorge Engagement Portraits were a beautiful celebration of their love together. It was such a privilege to work as a Linville Gorge Photographer for the day.
Nat & Brooks met each other working at a wilderness camp for troubled teens. The Gorge is one of their favorite places in Western North Carolina & the outdoors has been an important aspect of their relationship so it only made sense to do their engagement photos there.

Linville Gorge is known for its vast views and the epic sunrises & sunsets. Located in Western North Carolina, it’s amazing to visit in the fall & summer. Just make sure to always pack a rain jacket because the weather can change so quickly! Nat & Brooks & I watched as the dark clouds rolled in & thunder rolled in the distance during their Linville Engagement Portraits. This was the first time I’d been on this trail in Linville Gorge & it was a doozie! The trail goes pretty much straight up until you’re above treeline.
LINVILLE GORGE ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Engagement sessions are the perfect time to have some fun and get used to being in front of a camera before your wedding day. It’s a time to let your guards down & make some memories you’ll want to remember forever – which is what Nat & Brooks did! They had so much fun exploring the top of the mountain with their adorable pup Nalu. They danced & laughed and had a wonderful time in the gorge. Nat & Brooks’ engagement session was perfect & an evening to remember – and it was such a joy to be their Linville Gorge Photographer.
HOW TO PLAN YOUR LINVILLE GORGE ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Like most adventure sessions, it’s best to plan your Linville Gorge session in advance and to have a backup rain date. This is because the weather is extremely unpredictable in the mountains of Western North Carolina. The gorge is part of the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area, which means no permits are required for engagement sessions. As your Linville Gorge Photographer, I’m more than happy to help you find the perfect spot in the gorge for your photoshoot.
